Camp Experience

A one-of-a-kind lacrosse experience set over 4 days at the world class campus of Spire Academy in Geneva, Ohio, Campers will utilize dorms, dining facilities, as well as all athletic facilities. Method 18 strives to foster a focused environment where rising 7th, 8th, and 9th grade athletes will leave with a deeper understanding of playing lacrosse at a competitive level.

Method 18 is broken in 4 days/phases. The larger focus for each day by the staff is encouraging players to be leaders, good teammates, and detail oriented lacrosse players.

Day 1 Focus

Players arrive on campus & move into dorms. On field sessions begin mid day with stickwork, and small sided games for players to settle in and coaches have an opportunity to evaluate. Coaches will be evaluating players on technical ability and IQ but a larger emphasis will be identifying intangibles (toughness, focus, coachability, sportsmanship, & leadership). Coaches will complete draft at the end of Day 1 to create two (2) 20 player teams per grad year.

Day 2 Focus

As players settle into camp, day 2 is all about individual development. Players are broken up by position and then into smaller cohorts with their positional group. Sessions are all about skill development and sharpening the skills that are essential for each position group. Shooting, dodging for attackman and midfielders, footwork and stick handling for poles, and goalie specific training. In addition players will participate in strength & conditioning, speed & agility, and mental conditioning sessions with their positional group.

Day 3 Focus

Players will start the morning off with their team at breakfast. From breakfast on field sessions will be team focused, sessions will function much like practices covering (rides, clears, offensive ideas, defensive concepts, etc). These practices will be reinforced with each team participating in classroom sessions, film sessions, & mental skills work by the Spire Academy staff. Teams will continue with strength & conditioning work as well as small sided competition.

Day 4 Focus

A continuation of competition with two back to back games for each team. Games will utilize college level referees, shot clocks, start/stop time, and four (4) 12 minute quarters. Coaches and teams will have opportunities to review and regroup between games, make adjustments, etc.

Event Experience

Method 18 is all about the experience. The goal is to provide exposure to the rigors of the high school game to the most focused youth lacrosse players around. A player's experience is broken down into a couple phases below that differentiate Method 18.

Facilities Experience

Featuring full access to 300+ acres and 750,000 square feet under roof, SPIRE Academy is one of the largest multi-sport, training, education, and competition complexes in North America. Players will utilize all indoor turf fields, state of the art strength & conditioning facility, academy classrooms, dining facilities, and more!

Lacrosse Experience

Our coaching staff makes Method 18 second to none. With head coaches and assistants from multiple nationally recognized programs, the coaching is relevant and in tune with the trends of the game nationally. In addition to the staff, this invitation only event draws some of the best lacrosse talent at their given age group. Many of our campers are well acquainted with each other as they compete on the club circuit against each other year round.
